Once in Medjugorje, there are many pilgrimage sites you can visit. Depending on whether you came to Medjugorje with an agency or individually, pilgrimage sites are the same. Only your schedule may vary.

First site pilgrims visit when in Medjugorje is The Queen of Peace Shrine Church. Services are held ever day, on multiple languages.

First service Monday thru Friday is held in Croatian language, and starts at 7.30 am local time. During the morning, services are held in various languages, with mass in English starting at 10am local time. Afternoons are usually filled with priests and/or visionaries’ prayers with pilgrims.

Evening masses during the week have a program usually called Evening Prayer Program and Confessions. During evening services, pilgrims pray, have confessions, pray joyful and sorrowful mysteries of the rosary, bless objects brought to Church, pray glorious mysteries of the rosary and finally pray for the body and mind healing.

Weekend services are mostly similar to weekly ones. On Sundays and Fridays pilgrims go to the Apparition Hill.

Apparition Hill is the actual hill where Our Lady of Peace appeared to the children. It’s called Podbrdo in Croatian, which literally means “under the mountain”. The Apparition Hill is visited by pilgrims from all over the world, where they pray to Our Lady of Peace.

Although Blessed Mary appeared to the children on Podbrdo, pilgrims mostly go to Mt. Krizevac. This is the place where most of the miracles happen, and where all 14 stations of the cross lie on big cement blocks. The path on Mt.Krizevac is very rocky and hard to walk on, with huge stones sticking out throughout the whole way. Stil, with the Mt.Krizevac so hard to “climb”, pilgrims find it rather easy to get to the top of the mountain. Many pilgrims choose to climb Mt.Krizevac barefooted.
